EleKtro Lite Electric Scooter Review

EleKtro Lite Electric Scooter Review

EleKtro recently released the EleKtro Lite electric scooter, a lightweight entry-level e-scooter suitable for city rides.

However, there are already lots of portable entry-level e-scooters in the market; how does the EleKtro Lite compare to them? More importantly, is this worth your money?

This review will help answer these questions by breaking down the EleKtro Lite’s specs and features based on its performance, portability, design, and more. Hopefully, this electric scooter review will give you a better picture of this ride and if it suits your commuting needs.

Design and Durability

The EleKtro Lite electric scooter features a slim and sleek design with a black exterior and a light neon blue colour that pops out, giving it a minimalist but unique style.

At a glance, you can tell it’s quite slim and is designed to save space while transporting, parking, or storing the ride. However, despite its compact build, it uses premium aluminium material and is durable with no flimsy parts.

All of its parts, especially the handlebars and folding mechanism, feel solid and comfortable to the touch.

Plus, it has a maximum load of 120 kg, making this entry-level e-scooter heavy-duty. Most entry-level e-scooters can only carry up to 100 kg, but the EleKtro Lite surpasses many models in the same category by its durability alone. Overall, consider the EleKtro Lite if you want a slim but highly durable ride.

Portability

The main highlight of the EleKtro Lite e-scooter is its 12-kg weight. It’s the lightest EleKtro model currently available and one of the lightest electric scooters in Australia. This makes this ride easy to carry up the stairs and anywhere.

Besides its weight, it also has a compact build. Its dimensions measure 1,070 x 420 x 1,120 mm when unfolded and 1,070 x 430 x 490 mm when folded. This makes it easy to park or store the e-scooter in small spaces, such as small parking spaces, under desks, and inside large lockers.

Ultimately, it's a highly portable ride designed for your convenience.

Motor and Speed

Despite being an entry-level e-scooter, the EleKtro Lite doesn’t lack power. It uses a single 350 W motor to produce a top speed of 25 kph. Many entry-level e-scooters possess a slightly lower motor, around 200 W to 300 W of power since they’re only meant for city riding and not off-road travelling.

This e-scooter doesn’t have any default speed restrictions since its top speed falls under most electric scooter laws in Australia. When buying an electric scooter, always check if the specs, especially the speed limit, fall under your city or state’s e-scooter laws to avoid penalty.

Battery and Range

When it comes to range, it delivers a decent distance of up to 25 km on a single charge. This is thanks to its 36 V 7.8 Ah battery. However, remember that the actual maximum range will depend on factors like your riding speed, riding style, terrain, battery capacity, and more.

Also, notice how some entry-level e-scooters deliver a longer range than the EleKtro Lite. For example, the EleKtro 911 is another entry-level ride by the same brand, but it delivers up to 40 km.

If you want an entry-level e-scooter with a longer range, you may consider other options. Nonetheless, the EleKtro Lite offers enough range for short daily trips or quick occasional trips in the city.

Technology

Entry-level e-scooters often only include basic specs and features. You’ll seldom see any tech or smart features incorporated into the e-scooter. But the EleKtro Lite takes entry-level e-scooters up a notch by giving it Bluetooth capability.

Using the Bluetooth connection, you can connect the EleKtro Lite to your smartphone via a  dedicated app. You’ll receive instructions on how to download and use the app in the user manual. It’s quite easy to use the app, and it enables you to see all your riding information and check the e-scooter’s condition.

Besides this, the EleKtro Lite scooter includes a clear digital display that’s seamlessly built onto the e-scooter’s cockpit. At a glance, you’ll see all the necessary information you need while riding, including your current speed, speed mode, battery level, and icons like the Bluetooth and error indicators.

Safety

As with any e-scooter and micro-mobile device, safety should always be a priority. The EleKtro Lite ensures riders are safe with its rear disc brake.

A disc brake offers a highly responsive and strong stopping power. In fact, you rarely see this braking system on entry-level e-scooters as it’s more common in high-performance e-scooters. But the EleKtro Lite provides this braking system to give extra safety for its riders.

Besides this, the EleKtro Lite electric scooter is equipped with a bright front light and a rear light, helping illuminate your path and making you more visible to pedestrians and other vehicles at night.

Ride Quality

The EleKtro Lite scooter doesn’t have suspension, but it provides enough comfort and stability while riding. This is thanks to its 8.5-inch pneumatic tyres. Air-filled tyres offer great shock absorption and help cushion your rides when riding on rough paths.

The tyres also provide the ideal size, making it easy to manoeuvre the e-scooter. Overall, it’s a great choice for beginners due to its comfort, stability, and easy steering.

Price

The EleKtro Lite e-scooter has a retail price of $899, which is in line with the cost of many entry-level e-scooters. However, some people may find this on the more expensive side considering its category.

In this case, is it worth its price? We think it’s worth it. Given its motor power, Bluetooth capability, safety, and portability, the EleKtro Lite offers ideal specs and features that go above most entry-level e-scooters.

Plus, EleKtro offers a two-year warranty for its frame and a one-year warranty for its main body, motor, battery, and controller. A longer warranty period means that the brand is confident of its e-scooters’ durability and reliability.

Should You Get the EleKtro Lite Electric Scooter?

We highly recommend the EleKtro Lite if you’re a beginner or seasoned rider who wants a practical and portable e-scooter for daily trips. Also, consider the EleKtro Lite if you prefer a lightweight e-scooter that you can bring around anywhere.

Ultimately, it all depends on your commuting needs and e-scooter preferences. The best way to know if this ride is for you is to know what you need and want in the first place. If the EleKtro Lite checks all the boxes in your criteria, then it’s a perfect fit!
